Yoga TRX, Yoga Barre & Yoga Strong Instructor
My previous job was a stay-at-home mom. Only 5 feet tall, I had no place to hide the extra pounds I gained with my three pregnancies. Desperate to lose weight, I began to go for walks at night after a full day of childcare, housework, cooking dinner and putting everyone to bed. Because I had enjoyed weight training and a fitness competition in college, I decided to join a gym and start lifting again. I lost a total of 18 pounds.
Although I had never done much cardio before, I began adding short runs to my routine. I would run one block…then two…before I knew it I was running a mile, two miles and amazed myself by working up to a half marathon and then a full marathon. I never thought I could do that! Soon I ventured out and added biking and swimming to my program and entered my first sprint triathlon. I LOVED it! Now I have completed the Ironman four times.
Exercise has not just made my body look the way I want it to, it has also improved my self-esteem and my energy level. Along the way, I have encouraged many friends to join me in my love of exercise.
I take a lot of pride in the accomplishments of each client and love seeing the satisfaction they get from regular exercise. I enjoy the challenge of training a wide variety of people, giving them the skills and enthusiastic support they need whether their goal is weight loss, body composition change, conditioning for a sport, training for marathons and triathlons or simply, being able to pick up a grandchild.
In my free time you will find me out on a boat soaking up some sun or, attending a yoga class with my daughter.
