Jessica’s mother introduced her to yoga with a video nearly twenty years ago. She didn’t think too much about it, but knew it felt good, and found herself practicing every day. Now a mother of two young children, she still practices daily.
Yoga has served her through the changes and challenges of life, helping her heal from a spinal injury and evolve into her role as a mother. She has learned from many great teachers, including Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (Guruji), and received 200-hour Alignment Yoga Teacher Certification with Scott Anderson in 2003. Her studies in the past two years have been with Amie Heeter in the Para Yoga tradition. She is grounded, patient, and genuinely committed to the inherent wisdom and brilliance of the practice. Her classes include laughter and exploration within a dependable framework that encourages students to release anxieties and competitiveness.
Jessica understands the power of the breath and wants to give everyone the space and confidence to own their unique ability to live a contended life. In addition to teaching the Ashtanga Primary Series and mother-daughter yoga courses, she works at a non-profit, cooks for her family, rides her bike everywhere, and writes about her creative community endeavors at BetweenTwoLakes.com and madisonplaygroundreview.wordpress.com.
