It’s the best of yoga…it moves with the breath, grooves with the body and lights up your soul. Come on in and wring it all out.
Flow in Studio A: heated to 95 degrees. Find out what a little heat can do for your practice.
Flow in Lakeside Studio: warmed to a temperate 70 degrees. Let your practice warm you from the inside out.
A step down in intensity from our straight up Flow option, this 60-minute yoga class will take you through a gentle flow appropriate for beginners and anyone looking for a restorative practice in their day. We have options for this class in both our heated studio (Studio A) and room temperature studio (Lakeside Studio).
This class is for dedicated practitioners who are ready to take their practice to the next level. Students must have a regular practice of a minimum of 3 times per week and/or at least 6 months to 1 year of vinyasa practice. Students with minimal experience should not take this class.
Morning yoga is a gift. It launches your day with strength, balance and calm…and opens you to your highest, most creative self. This class is held in our warm room, Studio A. (Although Studio A is typically 95 degrees, the Morning Flow class is often a touch cooler because we have not yet achieved full temperature at that time of day. Expect 85 to 90ish.)
The Yoga Life
Yoga Philosophy + Modern Living
One glorious hour per week led by a rotating schedule of some of our most thoughtful teachers. They’ll share a variety of perspectives, readings, and discussion topics. Come to listen, grow, and change your life.
Bring a mat and yoga clothes. Depending on the instructor, you may or may not move through a few restorative poses at various points throughout the class.
It’s exactly what most of us need. An hour without effort, an hour of absolute surrender and release. The room is candlelit and we use bolsters and other props to support the body in a variety of poses that deeply restore and relax. We combine this with guided and silent meditation as well as meaningful readings for a quiet and moving experience.
Wear super comfortable and baggy clothing (think pajama-like.) And if you’re attending the Flow class right before, you may want to bring some dry clothes.
This is a different type of happy hour. The harmonious combination of yoga and barre will allow you to reach deeper into your poses and understand why many are saying it’s “the best damn workout of my life”.
Yin is a luxurious, restorative and body changing form of yoga. We’ll come slowly and deeply into each pose—and hold for several minutes. This allows for deep opening of the connective tissue and breakthroughs in your practice. Yin is more passive in a beautiful, peaceful way—a perfect balance to the more ‘yang’ type classes like Vinyasa Flow.
Run + Yoga = Heaven. Thirty minutes of outdoor running followed by thirty to forty-five minutes of yoga (30 minutes on Thursday mornings, 45 minutes on Saturday mornings.) The perfect combination. Run/Yoga will hum for 6 weeks in order to fully embrace the beauty of spring and fall running weather. Attend all the classes, or just one. (This class is offered only the fall and spring.)
All levels of runners and yogis welcome—the class is designed to allow runners to go their own pace. We run rain or shine so dress appropriately. (If you have a running watch, please bring it.)
Yoga for Athletes in Training
Whether your event is biking, swimming, running, or all three, our “Yoga for Athletes in Training” provides excellent cross training. And with the bike, running path, and swim courses right outside our door, The Studio’s location on Lake Monona is already a training haven for athletes. So park the bike, kick off the running shoes, strip off the wet suit, and come on in.
We’ll focus on:
Flexibility – Opening the areas that tighten up during intense training.
Strength – Full engagement of the core and other support muscle groups.
Heat Stamina – Build your tolerance for hot weather races.
Restoration – Full relaxation of body and mind…allowing the ‘rest’ necessary to achieve your personal best.
